NEWS LETTER 01/2014-15 – 20140930_TT2014/15_NL01

Dear friends, after several months recuperating from the *accident where I broke a leg, still on crutches but the mission field is calling for me.

It is stronger the calling than the desire to stay and solve this misfortune of mine. But I trust that, like the verse says; “as they went they were healed” (Luke 17:14), so it will also be with me.

Date for travelling is set for November 29th God willing.

The famine which has affected many, to us and the Project it was no exception. The “From Shack To Bricks,” Initiative, which 1st stage was finished in 2013, in 2014 the progress was quite slow as we already brought out in previous news.

We would like this time to offer something more, together with our presence on the mission field, but it also depends on the good will of this Project’s friends, in helping according to their possibilities.

As usual the appointed time for this missionary/humanitarian service will have the duration of 7 months, in which we will strive to be a positive force in the community, be it at the humanitarian level and, no less important, the spiritual level.

Thanks to God and the specialized care of the Physiotherapy treatments at “Santa Casa da Misericórdia,” I’m already giving baby steps sort of speak. I hope that the next doctor’s appointment, the 7th of this month, I will be given permission to set aside one of the crutches.

2014.03.18 – Cast above the knee and discharge. Barberton till May 21.
2014.04.14 – Cast till the knee at Barberton Provincial Hospital.
2014.05.21 – Return to Portugal.
2014.06.06 – Removal of cast at Barcelos Hospital.
2014.06.26 – Physiotherapy at Santa Casa da Misericórdia Póvoa de Varzim.
2014.10.02 – 3.º physiotherapy 15 day period, 45 days.

CARTA DE NOTÍCIAS 01/2014-15 – 20140930_TT2014/15_CN01

Estimados amigos, depois de vários meses em recuperação do acidente do qual sai com uma perna fracturada, ainda de muletas mas o campo de missão chama por mim.

O chamamento é mais forte que a vontade de ficar e tratar desta minha maleita. Mas confio que, assim como diz a passagem; “enquanto iam eram curados” (Lucas 17:14), assim será comigo.

A data da partida está marcada para 29 de Novembro se Deus quiser.

Como a época das vacas magras atingiu a muitos, para nós não houve excepção. A iniciativa “De Barraco a Tijolos,” cuja 1.ª fase foi concluída em 2013, em 2014 foi modesto o seu desenvolvimento como documentámos em notícias anteriores.

Gostaríamos de poder levar a possibilidade de fazer qualquer coisa, junto com a nossa presença no terreno, mas fica muito dependente da boa vontade dos amigos deste Projecto, em ajudar naquilo que possam.

Como habitual a comissão de serviço missionário/humanitário terá a duração de 7 meses, nos quais trabalharemos para ser uma força positiva na comunidade, quer ao nível material quer igualmente, e não menos importante, ao nível espiritual.

Graças a Deus e aos cuidados especializados dos Serviços de Fisioterapia da Santa Casa de Misericórdia, já estou gatinhando por assim dizer. Espero que na próxima consulta, dia 7 deste mês, receba permissão para por de lado uma das canadianas.

No tempo que me resta antes de viajar, tentarei fazer uma visita pessoal ou contactar por telefone. No entanto, se por qualquer motivo não conseguir fazê-lo, agradeço desde já qualquer donativo que possa ser feito.
